Sri Lankan Buddhist Monk Sets Himself On Fire To Protest The Unrightful Slaughter of Cattle

Bowatte Indaratna died today after being in critical care since yesterday, when he set himself ablaze with a cigarette lighter in protest of the slaughter of cattle in his home land.
5,000 cows are slaughtered daily in Sri Lanka.
If this number seems high to you, please research the amount of animals killed daily in your home land.

He was the first Sri Lankan Buddist monk to self-immolate.
He told the local television station that this was not a suicide, but a sacrifice of life.
He is right, we are living in hell. My soul reaches to him today, and I hope his drastic action will open some eyes to the reality of what we as human beings do to our brothers, regardless of species.
